Joint Training Between UNIFIL and State Security

The Italian battalion of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) concluded a joint training course for professional sniper at Al Mansouri headquarters. The course was attended by commissioned and non-commissioned officers, and members of the General Directorate of State Security and the Italian Unit, in the presence of the UNIFIL Western Sector Commander, Gen. Bruno Bishota, the Regional Director of State Security in the South Brigadier General, Eng. Nawaf AlHassan, the Commander of Al Mansouri site, Colonel Mario Chora, the Head of the State Security Office in Tyre, Captain Fadel Abbas, in addition to Italian officers and officers from State Security.
The course, which was run by specialists from the Italian battalion, included a series of theoretical and practical exercises, to improve practical and tactical capabilities, and training in professional sniping techniques and advanced risk-based techniques in unsafe locations.
AlHassan thanked General Bishota and his staff for their efforts in conducting training courses that will enhance communication, coordination and cooperation between UNIFIL, and officers and members of the General Directorate of State Security.
In turn, General Bishota expressed his delight at the completion of the training course for commissioned and non-commissioned officers, and members of the State Security "who demonstrated high technical and tactical capabilities and skills", while commending the "importance of coordination and cooperation with the Lebanese Army and the Lebanese security services".
He also drew attention to the inclusion of the Italian initiative in the framework of a number of courses organized by the Italian force in various fields, in line with the spiritof resolution no. 1701".
